James Gentry Beall (Jim) is the President of Beall Financial Planning. He graduated from Oglethorpe University, in Atlanta, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration in 1992. He worked in the marketing and technology fields before coming to work full time at BFP in 1995. Jim is a 2004 graduate of the Leadership Macon program.
Jim and Ann, his wife, support many local charitable and community organizations. Jim and Ann have three children: Joyce Evelyn, Mary Lin, and Joshua. They are active members of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where Jim served as chairman of the Finance Council and currently volunteers as an usher. He has been President of the School Board and President of the St. Joseph’s Catholic School’s Endowment Fund. He also volunteers with the Boy Scouts Troop 10 and as Committee Chairman. He is a member of the Friends of Rosa Parks Square Advisory Board. It assists the Macon-Bibb County Government to promote the ongoing revitalization of Rosa Parks Square in downtown Macon. Jim was also a contributing columnist for the former Macon Community News.
His hobbies are learning new things through reading and doing. He loves to go hiking, camping and providing his kids new experiences that expand their horizons. He also has a bit of a passion when it comes to learning about what makes people healthy. As a result, don’t be surprised to see him in his walking shoes as he and Ann have a healthy competition to see who can walk the most. His current goal is to once again weigh less than 200 pounds and if he achieves his goal his plans to go on a Pilgrimage to Spain and complete the Camino de Santiago.
